The Silla controlled during the mid-600s, and became the first Korean civilization. The Silla made beautiful statues using stone and bronze, built monasteries, and Buddhist temples. These pieces of art were a phenomenal tourist attraction, which really benefited the economy. They created a phonetic alphabet, the phonetic alphabet still used Chinese characters which enabled the people to keep records and create laws. The Silla ruled in Korea from 650 - 935
